Prevention is always better than treatment. There are ways to fix stressful situations, but preventing them from happening in the first place is ideal. Some stressors are obvious, while other ones are not so clear. Avoiding all stress will have major benefits to any lifestyle. Stress can be produced by the foods we eat, the people we interact with, and even the air we breathe. Eliminating all stressors can be over whelming, we hope this guide can help you see clearly what’s damaging to your lifestyle.

We’re going to show you how eliminating certain aspects of your life will help you reach your goal of being stress free now and not just into retirement. You have a lot more control over your stress than you might think. Stress free doesn’t have to be boring; it’s about eliminating the bad stress and expanding healthy stressors like motivation, love, and excitement.

Poor nutrition is a common and often overlooked stressor. It’s crucial to make sure that food isn’t a stressor considering we consume it every day. We want to nourish our body making it easier to handle stress and damage from other aspects of life. Don’t eat or drink anything that is hard to digest and processed by the body. This will physically stress out your organs, making you tired and overtime causing organ failure. Losing connections with loved ones and friends is a difficult thing to go through. Unfortunately we can’t control everything, but we can control how we react to certain situations. Losing someone is stressful and mourning over the death or reflecting over lost relationships is healthy but when this becomes chronic, it becomes a problem. Don’t lose yourself trying not to lose someone else. The stress and anxiety of losing someone is difficult, that’s why sometimes it’s just better to let someone go if they don’t want to stay. Holding resentment towards someone will also cause anger and will not solve any problems. Remove all resentment to create a peaceful mindset.

Other social stressors include family, loneliness, sexuality, and social anxiety. Sometimes even your own family members can stress you out, although you can’t change who’s in your family you always have the option to not engage or to minimize interactions until they can show a stress free approach towards you. These are all connections that when optimized will have a huge impact on your stress levels.

Another huge stressor is socio-economic class. It’s been proven that people living in poorer communities have higher stress levels. If you live in an environment with unfair law, crime, and discrimination. this will be a form of chronic stress. Although this seems difficult to change, through community connections progress is possible. If the community can’t change, living an optimized lifestyle pursuing your goals will help you get to where you need to be to avoid these social-economic stressors.

Financial stress is a burden for many people and it’s something that is hard to avoid with constant bills. However a lot of financial stress is caused by unrealistic goals. I’m not saying don’t try to achieve and gain what you want but if there’s no limit to you financial success then there’s no limit to your financial stress. Even the popular rapper Biggie Smalls raps about how the more money you have the more problems that come with it. If you’re chasing a paycheck and not personal happiness, it’s not surprising you’d be stressed because deep down inside you know it’s not what you were meant to do. There is plenty of CEO’s and millionaires that are depressed. If your lifestyle goal is to become rich, there’s 2 ways of getting there. Make more money or want less. Only one of these options can be completely controlled.

Even if you work at your passion it’s very possible to still overwork yourself and to set unrealistic deadlines. Rushing to get things done is stressful and your work will come out sloppy compared to if you just took your time and enjoyed the process. Overworking is a common mistake for overachievers and it can make you feel like you’re being lazy if you don't work hard. However, it’s crucial to take breaks, you need to find a balance between work and rest. It’s important to realize when you are overworked. When athletes are overworked, they can’t compete at the level they need to. This is why pro athletes do all their hard training weeks before competition so when it’s time to perform they’ll be at their peak without any stress.

Physical inactivity will also stress out the body. Humans are meant to move so being still all day is destroying our health. Even the most notorious and dangerous criminals in prison are permitted for daily exercise because if they aren’t that would be inhumane. If these people are awarded the opportunity to move, you should do yourself a favor and get moving. Even if you work out an hour a day you can still be living a sedentary lifestyle. If you catch yourself sitting for more than half an hour it’s a good idea to get some light movements done. The health benefits of movement are enormous so it’s not a surprise that a lack of it will damage your body, making you stressed.

Poor posture also stresses the body. Imagine putting your body in a position it was never meant to be in for long periods of times. This will add stress to your joints and chronic pain will be bothersome and stressful for both your physical and mental state. Poor posture is formed from poor sitting habits and a lack of movement. Thankfully there are certain mobility exercises that can help fix poor posture. Choosing the right kind of furniture will also support healthy posture, ergonomic chairs will prevent back pain and improve spinal integrity.

Substance abuse is a major problem for many people. This isn’t limited to just illegal drugs, even something as legal as caffeine can have detrimental effects on stress if over used. Everything we put into our bodies has to be filtered out. Medications are a good example of how chronic use will overtime stress out our detoxification systems making them weak and stressed over time. Living a healthier lifestyle and applying strategies from this guide will help you reverse your needs for these stressors.
